Children know the Best!

Now Jathan is almost 6, he knows well that his mommy is from China and doesn't look the same as other kids' moms. We recently moved to an area where has a lot of Hispanic people, most of Jathan's classmates are Hispanic as well. At dinner last night, we were trying to explain difference races and what mixes are to Jathan.
Jeff: "Mommy is Chinese and Daddy is American, so you and Brianne are mixed, because your daddy and mommy are difference races. And do you know Aunt Katrina is a mixed? Her daddy is African American and her mommy is American, that why her color is a little darker than Uncle Pat."
Jathan: "and Slayte is darker like his mom, and Deagan is lighter like his daddy."
Jeff: "Yes, we get some features from our dads and some from our moms. Like, you have brown eyes and brown hair, where do you think you get them from?"
Jathan: "From Mommy! Mommy's eyes are brown like mine!"
Jeff: "That's right! Jathan, you are taller than most of your class, do you think you got your height from mommy?"
Jathan: "Nooo! Mommy is not tall! You are tall, Daddy! I'm tall like you!"
Jeff: "How about your intelligence? where did you get it?"
Jathan: "What is intelligence?"
Jeff: "Smart, intelligence is like smart. so, where did you get your intelligence?"
Jathan thought for a couple seconds, then said: "Mommy! I'm smart like mommy!"

Well..... what can I say? He is right! =)

He might be smart like me, but he definitely is goofy like his daddy!
